Camps are a fun and exciting way for children of all ages to spend their summer vacation. With a variety of activities ranging from outdoor adventures to creative arts, there is something for everyone in the Centre region. Registration for most camps recently opened or will open soon, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to sign your child up. Below are a few fun camps and programs being offered locally this year:
Centre Parks and Recreation Camps
From toddlers to teenagers, the Centre Parks and Recreation camps have you covered. From a “Super Hero” camp for kids ages 4-8, to “Nature Wanderers Camp” camp for ages 10-14, to “Modding with Minecraft” for ages 10-16, there’s a camp for everyone.
Krislund Summer Camp
Krislund offers two unique day camp programs—Sprout Day Camp for grades 1-5, and STEM Day Camp for grades 6-8. Campers can spend their days outdoors enjoying the swimming pool, adventure course, and hiking trails. Two snacks and lunch are provided each day.
Makery Camps
The Makery is a bright inspiring children’s art studio located in downtown State College. This year, they are offering numerous camps for kids and teens where they’ll learn about fashion, photography, sculpting, crochet, and kids sewing.
Discovery Space Camps
Offering week-long camps for ages 4 - 14 based on a unique STEM themes such as “Dino Detectives,” “Chemistry Wonder Lab,” “Code Coaches,” and more. Each camper receives a t-shirt, morning and afternoon snacks, Science Center exploration time, and outdoor playtime.
YMCA
The State College, Bellefonte, Moshannon, and Penns Valley YMCAs all offer camps throughout the summer. Camp activities, ages, and prices vary by location.
Nittany Valley Sports Centre
Is your child interested arts and crafts, games with friends, or learning new skills? The Nittany Valley Sports Centre Summer Camps offer all that and more for ages 4 - 12. Camps include snacks, a camp t-shirt, sibling discounts and more. Early drop off and late pick up are also available.
Penn State Summer Camps for Kids
