Mount Nittany Health’s social media and web presence were recently recognized at the 18th annual Digital Health Awards. This competition, held twice each year, recognizes the world’s best digital health resources. The winners were chosen from nearly 500 entries, judged by a panel of distinguished experts in digital health media.
Mount Nittany Health’s kids.mountnittany.org website received a Gold Award in web-based digital health. “As part of a multimedia plan to promote Mount Nittany Physician Group Pediatrics, the kids’ site was designed to be child-friendly, feature original animation, easy navigation, and entertaining yet educational content for both parents and kids. The site reinforces Mount Nittany Health’s vision to become the most trusted healthcare resource in central Pennsylvania,” said Lee Ann Tripp, MA, manager, marketing and communications, Mount Nittany Health.
Originating in August of 2015, the kids’ site offers information about our pediatric providers and resources for both kids and families. The interactive “Kids Zone” section features activities like crossword puzzles and coloring pages, to help teach children the importance of staying healthy.
Additionally, Mount Nittany Health’s Facebook page received a Merit Award in digital health. With more than 7,000 followers to date, the Facebook page offers up-to-date content, from events to health and wellness tips.
The awards program is organized by the Health Information Resource Center (HIRC), a clearinghouse for professionals who work in consumer health fields. These awards are based on content, format, overall quality, and success in reaching a targeted health audience.
